Any training program that promises specific results is boosheet. Think about it, how can anyone promise anything without specifically knowing the subject using it?
Solid training programs are based on universal training principles. These can be progressive overload, flexibility, time under tension, muscular endurance, and specificity. There are more but this isn't sports science class. Point here is that training programs built on the foundation of effort will work. This is why it is important to train in a way that makes sense otherwise you build things you don't need.

Don't bother dropping links over here!
I appreciate the amount of readers who drop in each day to read what is written. However, I do not appreciate consistent comments with links to other web sites. This is much the reason why they will never, may I repeat never, be published comments. Seriously, clean that up.
You can also clean up your basketball training by purchasing the Basketball Strength program. Nobody does it like we do because we have an original method. There can only be one original!

Squats and Sled Dragging
Quick case, squats versus sled dragging...The squat is a complex movement that requires optimal levels of wrist, shoulder girdle, vetebral, and hip girdle strength. Think about it, to perform a squat correctly, you really do need optimal levels of all these sections. The sled has two dimensions; backwards and frontwards. Each type of drag represents a different angle to grow from. With either direction the most important tip is to keep joint angles ergonomic or straight. This will keep your natrual mechanical advantages in situations not to mention prevent possible injury.

Name in the paper
Lots of varsity basketball players dream about seeing their own name in the paper. This is a good dream but I find that sometimes it's a one sided goal. Instead of seeing their own name in the paper...how about if the TEAM made the paper?
It takes a lot of diligent work to produce a winning team. It starts with the coach and rolls down to the players. It's a two way street!

Go over the screen
Fundamental rule of defense; go over the screen and NEVER under it. when you go under it, you give up the three point shot and more importantly allow the offensive player to become comfortable making decisions. I worked with a guy a few years back that said "real coaches" teach players to go under the screen because not too many guys can hit the three. It's safe to say, it didn't work out between me and mister "know-it-all".
1. Do not allow yourself to be screened.
2. If you are screened, fight your way over it.
Basketball Strength is a dynamic training program designed to be used on a court, field, or anywhere where there is open space. No magic bells and whistles here just solid movement correction for athletes that need it. Not getting what you want out of yourself on the court?...maybe it's time to hook up with Basketball Strength!

A shout out to my boys overseas!
I have played, trained, and met a lot of professional athletes. I can honestly say that few are as solid as these two guys. Both Bryan and Maurcie Bailey embody what it means to be a professional. They train for it, live for it, and do it. No games, no hidden agendas, no magic supplements, just consistent, hard-ass work with no excuses. It's no surpise that both these guys have dominated high level pro basketball for YEARS now. They do it right! Keep killin' it you guys!

Throw your ladder away
The new gadgetry in fitness is usually good for a laugh. The ladder is the new piece of "equipment" that currently has my laughter on lockdown. Why is there a need for this? Why can't young athletes learn to skip, hop, gallop, jump, jump rope, on their own? Why must there be implements to teach athletes how to move as opposed to using the athlete himself?
1. Start jumping rope
2. Get to the grass roots that is you by training with you
3. Keep your training simple and your effort maximal
Basketball Strength is a unique system of training geared towards athletes of all kind.

Jelly discs
The more I study modern strength training, the more I want to vomit sometimes. Everyone has their own path of life. This path and experience base allows you to become conditioned with the things it took you to suceed. These are things you hold true simply because they have proven themselves to be. This is why I know my basketball training system works because I was the player.
Train on two feet, master movement across several planes, develop cardio in various aspects, condition your mind to push past all known limits, and be consistent

Barefoot walking
Barefoot walking is an important strengthening process. It allows the toes to develop properly with the ankle joints. Over time, more barefoot walking equates to stronger lower legs.
If you wear orthotics, I advise you to continue to wear orthotics since that is a medical condition. You can apply the toe strengthening by spreading your toes as you walk for five minutes or so at a time. This will feel strange yet it is incredibly beneficial for preventing sprained ankles.
